Exclaimer: this blog is a blog of tv reviews. There are very few negative reviews and positive reviews are only really there to open you up to see the things that we find worthy for you to see. This blog is here to show you what's out there should you have never seen it. Requests are very doable, leave them in the ask box.

Retro Review: Dragnet (Badge 714)
”Just the facts, ma’am” The show dragnet may be to date the most accurate attentive to detail cop show in existence. The term Dragnet is a police term giving you an idea of just how accurate the tv show is as well as is the version for radio. The problem with my simple explination of what Dragnet was to a generation is that it means nothing to you. Where most cop shows these days have detectives flashing badges, beating up bad guys, blowing up cars, fighting terrorists, claiming to “tackle Issues” all the while making more simply to make money off of them Dragnet was about what it would look like to be an actual police detective.
If you are to look at any shows on the line up today NCIS, CSI, etc. you would be hard pressed to find one that doesn’t base a level of sexuality into murder, that being all the show is about. Dragnet touched on everything from burgurlary to homeless youths. This show is truly an icon and you should give it some attention, on “the big broadcast” on at least WAMU 88.5 in DC they play the radio show. Drop in and listen with me as detective seargent Joe Friday and his partners solve crimes the way they were  supposed to.
